Behold: The Valentine’s Day Dedication Playlist!

Finally, the moment you’ve all been waiting for–the playlist has arrived! I’m posting it early because I want all time zones to have access to this post before Valentine’s Day, and I’ve also got a busy weekend ahead of me (hello, 9-hour retail shift on Saturday!). Before we get to the good stuff, I’d like to thank you all for your participation. I enjoyed exploring your submissions, discovering new music, and reading your messages. I think this project as a whole was beautiful experience to be a part of. We all contributed a little piece of our hearts to this post, and here’s our result. Enjoy.

Back to Reality

Hi, friends and readers!

I’m still alive and kicking, though my lack of updates would seem to indicate otherwise.  I had wanted to give you all a play-by-play of my most recent visit with my boyfriend, but we didn’t have internet where we were staying, and then I got distracted by job searching and working and all sorts of other excuses.  So, in lieu of a bunch of late, individual posts about my visit, I’m going to give you this one post with some highlights from our thirteen days together.

LDR Playlist–Holiday Style

I told you I’d be back today! You’re in for a treat.  This addition to my ongoing LDR playlist features fun holiday tunes.  All of the following holiday-themed songs were selected based off their ability to  give me warm fuzzies, make me wistful, and/or remind me of my boo.  Naturally, I am not naive enough to believe that any (or all) of these songs were written with long-distance relationships in mind, but since when has that stopped any of us from relating to things? With that, turn up your volume, and enjoy.

A Brief Word of Thanks

On this day of reveling in what we have, I encourage you to be thankful for your loved ones.  Whether they are near, far, or departed, be thankful for the memories you have made with them and the feelings you have shared with them.  Although he’s almost 5,000 miles away, I’m no less thankful for his love than I am for the love I’ll be sharing with my family during dinner tonight.

Be happy, love each other, and give thanks.  ❤

LDR Playlist–Track 1

Hello, cyber-void!

I said I’d post this week, so I’m remaining true to my word.  I’m giving you something to listen to rather than to read, for gigantic teacher certification projects (edTPA, anybody?) have taken over my life at the moment. So, please sit back and enjoy the inaugural track of my LDR playlist.

“But wait, what’s the LDR Playlist?”

Great question, internet stranger!

Every so often, I will post a song.  A track to a playlist housed in this blog, if you will.  Each track will relate to either LDRs in general or my own LDR.  I’ll be posting songs that relate to the heartache of distance/separation as well as songs that simply make me think of my own Euro-love.

With that, please enjoy The Proclaimers’ “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles).”  I’d explain my choice, but I think it speaks for itself.

Naturally, please note that I do not own this song, this video, or anything related to this lovely piece of media you are about to experience.  Also, I picked the Doctor Who rendition because my boyfriend and I are both Whovians.

Until next time,

Arrow
